The editors, associate editors, and institutional representatives who serve Christian Scholar’s Review are pleased to appoint Josh Reeves as the next Associate Co-Editor for Theology. Reeves currently serves as the Director of Samford University’s Center for Science and Religion and joins Karin Stetina (Professor of Biblical and Theological Studies at Biola University), who serves as the other Associate Co-Editor for Theology. Theology, due to the volume and complexity of the submissions CSR receives, is led by two associate co-editors.
Reeves has served on the faculty and as an administrator at Samford University for eleven years, is the author or co-author of three books, and is the co-editor of the forthcoming The Christian Intellectual Tradition from the Reformation to the Modern Era (Baker Academic, November 4, 2025). He has also served in various roles with professional associations, including Co-Chair of the Science, Technology, and Religion Unit for the American Academy of Religion.
In response to his appointment, Reeves offered, “I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve as the associate co-editor for theology. I have long admired Christian Scholar’s Review as a leading journal among Christian scholars across the disciplines. I look forward to continuing its great work in service to Christian higher education and the wider church.”
In response to the opportunity to work with Reeves, Margaret Diddams, Christian Scholar’s Review’s Editor, shared, “We are delighted to have Professor Reeves join us on the editorial board. His exemplary theology background will complement the expertise of others on our board. I am also pleased that he will be able to exercise his experience in writing and editing interdisciplinary work with us. Writing at the intersection of Christian faith with other academic areas is a challenging scholarly endeavor. I look forward to Professor Reeves working with our authors to bring pieces to publication.”
Reeves’s transition to serving in this role will take place over the course of the fall semester and begin in full in January 2026.
With the support of 50 sponsoring institutions, the mission of Christian Scholar’s Review is the publication of peer-reviewed scholarship and research, within and across the disciplines, that advances the integration of faith and learning and contributes to a broader and more unified understanding of the nature of creation, culture, and vocation and the responsibilities of those whom God has created.
With a distribution of 5,000 issues per quarter, the print journal is the foundation for a platform that celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2021. Serving an audience of approximately 14,000 scholars, that platform presently includes the “Christ Animated Learning” series of posts sent Monday through Friday and “Saturdays at Seven” series of conversations sent on Saturdays. Staffing presently includes the publisher, four editors, eleven associate editors, and fifty campus representatives.
