During the last volume year the total number of submissions was fifty-nine—slightly below normal; the only significant anomaly was that because our theme issue for summer 2012 was moved back to summer 2013 (see below), we technically had no submissions for a theme issue in this year. Our current acceptance-to-publication timeframe is about twelve months.
Deep thanks and appreciation go to Janel Curry (Calvin College), outgoing associate editor for social sciences. I thank Janel for her excellent service to CSR and wish her Godspeed as the new Provost at Gordon College. We welcome Brian Howell (Wheaton College) as our new associate editor for social sciences. Also I thank Kim McMurtry (our formatter), Elaine Friedberg (our copy editor), all of the associate editors and referees, as well as David Hoekema and Todd Steen for their excellent work for CSR during the past year. It is truly a pleasure to work with them. Finally, I thank the Board of Trustees at Montreat College for supporting my work as Editor.
The summer theme issue, “Globalization and Global Trends in Christian Higher Education,” co-edited by guest editors, Janel M. Curry and Joel Carpenter of Calvin College, originally scheduled for summer 2012 has been deferred until summer 2013. Discussion on the appropriateness of manuscript topics with the guest editors is recommended and encouraged through e-mail: janel.curry@gordon.edu or jcarpent@calvin.edu. Also, I am happy to announce our summer 2014 theme issue, “Theology, Philosophy and Development in Contemporary Africa,” co-edited by David A. Hoekema (Calvin College), Paul W. Robinson (Wheaton College), and Afia Yamoah (Hope College). See below for details regarding the Call for Papers.
I have enjoyed this past year and look forward to 2012-13.
